About the CTA

The Carmarthenshire Tourism Association (CTA) has the sole aim of supporting and developing tourism in Carmarthenshire, South West Wales - with a clear focus to provide high quality and relevant business support to the County's tourism and hospitality trade. As the only county-wide tourism association for Carmarthenshire, we play a vital role in grass-roots trade engagement, communication and support.

Established in 1996 by a small group of local tourism business owners - today, we have some 250 members from businesses from all types and sizes, and involved in the County's visitor economy. An independent, not-for-profit company limited by guarantee - The CTA has a small employed team, together with the extended team of voluntary directors elected from our membership base - making the CTA an organisation which is 'led by the trade, for the trade'.

Whilst we work with, and provide some opportunities for the whole of the county’s tourism trade - we're a membership organisation and offer a strong package of business support benefits and services to our members.

Meet the Team

The Carmarthenshire Tourism Association is run by a board of directors elected from representatives from our member businesses and who volunteer their time and efforts to the Association. A small team of hardworking, dedicated and professional individuals are employed to carry out the day to day running of the CTA and ensure that members receive the high quality support, advice and benefits they require.

Office Staff

If you’re a member of CTA, you will already be familiar with our friendly and knowledgeable staff, on hand to provide support and advice to those involved in Carmarthenshire's tourism industry.

Nia Ball

Nia Ball

Chief Executive

Having graduated with a BA (Hons) degree in Tourism Management in 1998, Nia started her career in the tourism industry within the Overseas Marketing team at the Wales Tourist Board (now Visit Wales). She then moved to London where she spent time working as a Marketing Executive with VisitBritain and then as the Travel Trade Marketing Executive for London Zoo & Whipsnade Zoo.

Keen to return to work in Wales' tourism industry, Nia moved back to her native county to work for the CTA in September 2004 as Marketing & Membership Manager. In July 2007 Nia became Chief Executive of the CTA.
