In 2018, we're introducing exciting new experiences for visitors to Carmarthenshire and the wider South West Wales region to enjoy. Our 'Hwyl Events' showcase the best of Welsh culture - including food and drink, music, dance and stories... and of course, our renowned warm, Welsh welcome!
Hwyl (noun) :
A Word from our ancient Welsh language, meaning 'Fun’ or 'a stirring feeling of emotional motivation and energy”
'HwylNos' events will be fun, informal evenings held at a handful of great locations across the region - giving you the opportunity to enjoy a taste of Wales with a tasty meal and Welsh entertainment.
'Hwyl At' events designed especially for children and families to enjoy interactive Welsh experiences, from dancing to storytelling!
Watch this space for more information and dates of these upcoming Hwyl Events. The first is due to be held in July 2018.
See a short film below with highlights from our pilot/trial Hwyl Events, held in 2017 - a little taste of what to expect!
Travel Trade / Group Travel: As well as the scheduled events, we can also organise bespoke events for groups visiting the region (e.g. coach companies, group travel organisers, cruise excursions).
Please contact us to discuss your requirements. We're confident that we organise an experience that will be a highlight of your group's visit to the region.
This is part of a project being led by us at Carmarthenshire Tourism Association and funded via Visit Wales' Tourism Product Innovation Fund, which aims to introduce regular Welsh experiences for visitors to our region to enjoy.
"We attended our first Carmarthenshire Tourism Summit in 2014 and found it interesting, inspiring and definitely of benefit to us and our business. "
"The Summit is a great event with a chance to hear from experts in the tourism business. Wonderful to meet up with old friends and make some new ones. Workshops are really useful and make you think about your business."
"Best summit yet. Simon Calder exceeded high expectations. This is a way for a micro business to gain an insight into the latest big picture in terms of economic outlook for the sector, future public policy and latest technologies."
