Hwyl Events - Real Welsh Experiences / Profiadau Cymreig Go Iawn

     Hwyl Events...

Discover the tales of our epic past and present...

Be immersed in the spirt and sounds of Wales...

Experience the energy and drama of our dance...

Be part of the ancient, living, breathing heritage of Wales.

In 2018, we're introducing exciting new experiences for visitors to Carmarthenshire and the wider South West Wales region to enjoy.  Our 'Hwyl Events' showcase the best of Welsh culture - including food and drink, music, dance and stories... and of course, our renowned warm, Welsh welcome!

Hwyl (noun) :

A Word from our ancient Welsh language, meaning  'Fun’ or  'a stirring feeling of emotional motivation and energy”

'HwylNos' events will be fun, informal evenings held at a handful of great locations across the region - giving you the opportunity to enjoy a taste of Wales with a tasty meal and Welsh entertainment.

'Hwyl At' events designed especially for children and families to enjoy interactive Welsh experiences, from dancing to storytelling!

Watch this space for more information and dates of these upcoming Hwyl Events. The first is due to be held in July 2018.

See a short film below with highlights from our pilot/trial Hwyl Events, held in 2017 - a little taste of what to expect!

Travel Trade / Group Travel:  As well as the scheduled events, we can also organise bespoke events for groups visiting the region (e.g. coach companies, group travel organisers, cruise excursions).

  • Choose from a variety of venues including hotels, historic houses, gardens, village halls or chapels.
  • Experience a range of Welsh entertainment such as choirs, traditional dancers, harpists and storytelling.
  • Opt for entertainment only or enjoy the entertainment with tea and welsh cakes or a full meal showcasing local produce.

Please contact us to discuss your requirements.  We're confident that we organise an experience that will be a highlight of your group's visit to the region.

This is part of a project being led by us at Carmarthenshire Tourism Association and funded via Visit Wales' Tourism Product Innovation Fund, which aims to introduce regular Welsh experiences for visitors to our region to enjoy.
