Carmarthenshire Tourism Association is pleased to work in partnership with Business Wales to bring you two workshops which look at ways to cut costs, save energy and attract a wider range of visitors to your tourism business.
Both workshops run on Thursday 30th March and will be held at Totally Sustainable, Pencader - an independent energy hub which showcases green building practices and alternative sustainable technologies. Their location at the old school house in Pencader has been carefully renovated and is now one of Wales’ most sustainable properties. And for any fans of Channel 4's Restoration Man, you may well recognise the building - having been showcased on the program back in 2014.
Greening & Saving, 10.30am - 1pm, Thursday 30th March
Your business could cut costs, save money and use less energy by becoming more sustainable - and this workshop aims to show you how. You'll find out more about energy, water and waste management, building improvements & raw materials, and funding opportunities & tax incentives available to green businesses. And with environmental awareness shown to be a growing factor when visitors are deciding where to stay, eat and visit, you may boost your bookings too! Click here for full details.
Access All Areas, 1.30 - 4pm, Thursday 30th March
Accessibility isn't all about providing ramps - it's about providing information, giving good customer service and offering facilities that mean that your business is ready to give a warm welcome to all visitors, and that disabled visitors are able to make informed decisions and know what to expect if they choose to visit you. Over 10 million people in Britain have a disability. This workshop will help you to engage with this often neglected market sector by reviewing or writing an Access Statement for your business - and of course helps you meet the legal requirement under the Equality Act 2010 to consider disability access to your premises. Each workshop costs £10 per person. Contact us to book your place!
"It's very difficult to find out how our visitors find us on the internet. However, when I analyse my statistics with my hosting company, I find Visit Carmarthenshire in the top 10 of referrals. In a Google search it comes on the top page if you use key words like "Bed and Breakfast in Carmarthen". It's important to have another platform where our business can be found online and it really does work for us!"
"The one to one sessions on improving my website were really valuable. Paul Knows what's what and how I am thinking or struggling immediately! I value his input."
"We really enjoyed the Gold award winner visits. They've given us some great ideas and some real practical help. Strangely, one of the most useful things from the visits is that it's saved us a lot of time researching things that wouldn't be practical for us to try at the mill."
