Hwyl Events are being introduced by Carmarthenshire Tourism Association as part of our aim to offer ‘Real Welsh Experiences’ to visitors to our part of Wales, as well as those lucky enough to live here.
Initially funded by Welsh Government’s Tourism Product Innovation Fund, our aim is to deliver events that showcase a true taste of Wales. These are events that celebrate Welsh culture – both traditional and contemporary - through food, music, dance, stories, sport and most importantly, some ‘hwyl’ (fun).
Our new Hwyl Events will be held at a variety of fantastic locations – including historic houses, gardens, award-winning restaurants, working farms and even on a steam railway as it chugs along through stunning scenery!
HwylNos – A chance to enjoy an evening of entertainment whilst enjoying a tasty meal in the surroundings of a truly Welsh location.
Hwyl@ - Designed for children to enjoy interactive Welsh experiences, from dancing workshops to storytelling walks. As an added bonus, Hwyl@ events are usually held in some of our finest visitor attractions – so offer a full, fun-packed day out.
Hwyl Events for Group Travel – Bespoke events for the Group Travel Market including Coach Operators, Cruise Market, and Group Travel Organisers.
Our new website is now live - and on it, you can find everything you need to know about our new Hwyl Events - including a calendar of all upcoming events.
Tickets are now on sale for the first of these events (HwylNos on the Gwili Railway), with dates and tickets for a number of others being released in the next few days!

Here's a short film of what to expect from our Hwyl Events:
"It's very difficult to find out how our visitors find us on the internet. However, when I analyse my statistics with my hosting company, I find Visit Carmarthenshire in the top 10 of referrals. In a Google search it comes on the top page if you use key words like "Bed and Breakfast in Carmarthen". It's important to have another platform where our business can be found online and it really does work for us!"
"The one to one sessions on improving my website were really valuable. Paul Knows what's what and how I am thinking or struggling immediately! I value his input."
"We really enjoyed the Gold award winner visits. They've given us some great ideas and some real practical help. Strangely, one of the most useful things from the visits is that it's saved us a lot of time researching things that wouldn't be practical for us to try at the mill."
