On Thursday 5th June, we arranged a visit to two popular visitor attractions on the outskirts of Carmarthen.
We were welcomed to Carmarthenshire Museum, Abergwili by Eloise Chapman. Eloise had curated the museum's current Exploring Ancient Egypt exhibition in partnership with the Egyptologist, Joann Fletcher, and shared news of other exciting exhibitions they are currently working on. Following our tour of the museum, head Gardener for the Tywi Gateway Trust, Blue Barnes Thomas, gave us a behind-the-scenes taster of their exciting walled garden project.
We then travelled a short distance to be welcomed by Jeremy John of Gwili Railway where we were treated on a vintage journey through beautiful Carmarthenshire with cream tea as a bonus. It was great to hear more about the history of Gwili Railway and the opportunity to get up close with the vintage train.
Diolch yn fawr to both Carmarthenshire Museum and Gwili Railway for their welcome, and we hope all attendees enjoyed both visits. Keep an eye out for more visits in the near future.
